This week was full of drama, arts and crafts and baking. We’re all going a little stir crazy so we’re having to think up new activities to keep us all relatively sane. You can relate, right?
The boy had an idea to make cookies that looked like germs, but he also really wanted them to include chocolate chips. Challenge accepted!
First, I decided to make my Almond Flour Chocolate Chip Cookies as the base for this idea. I modified it by adding in some Kelly green food coloring for the “germ” part of these cookies.

Once we scooped them out onto a baking sheet lined with a silicon mat, we misshaped them to give them a germ effect. (messy)
They baked at the same temperature and time as the original recipe.

When they cooled, I used a store-bought bottle of royal icing left over from Valentine’s Day to make the white part for eyes. I then used mini-chocolate chips for the pupil.
They’re not perfect, but the boy loved them and got a kick out of safely eating “germs.”

I hope you all had a great week despite the news and current events. Here’s hoping this is as close as we get to “germs” this weekend. No matter what anyone says, please don’t try to eat disinfectant or bleach or anything that isn’t food.
Be safe, you guys and when in doubt, eat a damn cookie!
As always,
Evie
